Monday 22 December 2008

Up at 0630 to update my diary and Blog, prepare breakfast and transfer photographs from the camera into the laptop. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . I also transferred some of my other photographs.

After breakfast we went to Warrens to do our washing. Margaret rested while I hung the first load on the line and put the next load on. Margaret was still asleep when I put the next load on the line. After Margaret woke up Warren took us down town while he took the girls swimming in the Murray River. After we had shopped at Priceline, Rivers and Woolworths I tried to ring Warren to let him know where we were only to find I had the wrong number in my phone. Also Warren had tried to ring me but he rang my other phone which was in the Motorhome. Eventually he found us near Woolworths.

After unloading our shopping he had to leave to go to Melbourne to pick up his brother Gary from the airport. Gary, who we saw in Darwin had flown in from New Zealand where he had been driving Coach Tours for the Summer.

Margaret and I waited in Warren’s unit. Margaret rested after all the walking around the shops. I put my new hard drive in my laptop and started installing the software.

The family arrived home around 2100. We all had a chat and then Margaret and I returned to the Motorhome for bed at around 2230.

Sunday 21 December 2008

Up at 0900 for breakfast – cereal today!! At 1000 we packed the motorhome for travelling and departed Bears Lagoon by 1020.

We stopped at Mitiamo to dump the toilet in the public toilets there. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Then on to Echuca, arriving at 1200. After lunch with Warren and the girls we rested and watched the cricket. I had a shower at Warrens before he took us on a drive around Echuca. We had dinner and then went outside for a chat. Aliesha had to rest and Warren, Kayla and Emily joined us for a while before the girls dragged Dad of to kick the soccer ball while Margaret and I watched. After they finished they asked us to go into the park behind the house to see their Christmas Lights. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .After we had admired the lights Margaret and I returned to the Motorhome to watch TV and go to bed.

More Cricket and work on badges at Bears Lagoon

Saturday 20 December 2008

Up at 0730 prepared breakfast and then went for a walk and took some photographs. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . On my return at 0830 I started trimming the BBL badges before breakfast.

After breakfast I put mudflaps behind both of the front wheel – great – no more mud up on the batteries. I also found one of the alternators had come loose and saw that whoever put the alternator on last had left a 5mm spacer out and was causing a non alignment of the belt path. This is all now fixed.

By this time it is 1230 – Lunch time.

After lunch I started the generator in time for cricket. While the cricket was on I trimmed more of the BBL badges. At cricket lunch I added oil to the Volvo Engine and topped up the water in the trojan deep cycle batteries. During the cricket I again worked on the BBL batteries. Then during tea at the cricket I cut out some Aussie Badges.

Back to working on BBL badges during the cricket and and after the cricket we watched some of the Channel 7 Christmas in the Domain and then over to McCleods Daughters after which we were off to bed.

Friday 19 December 2008

Up at 0730 to prepare breakfast and take rubbish to bin. After breakfast I took some photos of some black swans in the lake . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .and then downloaded Margaret’s bank information.

At 1100 we departed and drove to the local BP Service Station for fuel and food – BP Boort 51.91litres @ 134.9c/litre. We then drove across the road to eat and then dump the toilet in the local park toilets.

At 1230 we departed Boort and drove to a rest area at Bears Lagoon . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .at 1310. I fuelled the generator and started the computer in the boot and started the badges for Group 61. These badges were all engraved and trimmed while we watched the cricket. We then watched an Agatha Christie movie on TV while we had dinner. At 2330 we turned the generator off and went to bed.

BBL badges made at Boort by the Lake

Thursday 18 December 2008

Up at 0730 (awake at 0600) - had a little water leak near the foot of the bed – I will have to check the source out later. I put 11 litres of rain water into bottles and then prepared breakfast and worked on my blog.

Updated Blog on the web site.

After breakfast Margaret had a shower whilst I washed up and then we left the overnight stop at 1145.

We arrived on Boort at 1224 and found a nice spot for lunch near the Crochet Courts and the lake. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . We then drove around Town and up to the Lookout on the hill and finally to the park area to dump the toilet.

While at the park I spoke to a council worker who told me that many people stayed overnight behind the crochet centre. We drove around there and found a good spot. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

I fuelled the generator and started it to make some badges. I printed some BBL badges and also a couple of Australia badges for Kevin & Faye Tobin of Esperance Caravan And Camping Centre who had helped us out with the use of their ladder.

We had dinner and watched CSI on TV before going to bed at 2230.
